There are various ways to get to Toronto. Options range from air, to bus to train. Getting to Toronto by air remains the fastest and most convenient way to travel. However, it is also the most expensive. Travelling to Toronto by bus or train will save you money, but it will be significantly longer and more inconvenient. The following is a visitors guide to the various ways to get to Toronto
| Getting to Toronto by Air The city of Toronto has two main airports. Toronto Pearson International Airport (airport code YYZ) is just west of Toronto and happens to be the main point of landing for most domestic and international flights into the city of Toronto. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (airport code YZT), located on the Toronto Islands, services some regional and chartered flights. |
| Getting to Toronto by Bus Toronto’s main terminal for out-of-town buses is located downtown at 610 Bat Street. You can call them at 416-393-7911 or visit them at torontocoachterminal.com for more information. For buses to other cities in and around the GTA, you can catch a Go Bus from 140 Bay St. |
| Getting to Toronto by Train All trains arrive and depart from Union Station (65 Front St. West). VIA Rail handles most of Canada’s inter-city routes and connects to the U.S. via Amtrak. The Amtrak/VIA Maple Leaf route runs from New York City to Toronto daily and takes around 12 hours, depending on the wait at the border. |
